It’s here! Published today is our page-turning supernatural thriller, Bridge of Blood, by Philip McCormac.

Bridge of BloodThe Police Service of Northern Ireland detectives face an onslaught of problems: gangsters, paramilitaries, corrupt Catholic priests, and mistrust. But there are allies and heroes too — after a fashion — such as Father Shane Hickey, sent back from Colombia in disgrace, but an expert in exorcism. His skills are sorely needed because lurking behind the evil, exploiting human frailties, is the demon imprisoned since the Portadown Massacre of 1641: Laldaboth.

Out now in paperback from amazon.com ($12)  &  amazon.co.uk (£8).  Kindle edition from amazon.com  | amazon.co.uk at special launch price of $2.99/ £1.99. ePUB edition to follow Spring 2013.

See the Bridge of Blood webpage for more information and updates.

A controversial novelette about climate change from Greyhart author Andy West

Andy WestGreyhart author Andy West has recently posted a science fiction novelette to a the ‘Watts Up With That’ website. It claims to be the world’s most viewed site on global warming and climate change, and at 133 million hits on its stat counter, it might well be right.

Andy’s story is called ‘Truth’ and is available as a free downloadable PDF. You can see his post and his story here.

assassinsJust released! Andy has also co-written a techno-thriller trilogy filled with secret sects and events in the middle ages reaching the modern day. It’s called the Waters of Destiny, and is rather like Dan Brown’s Da Vinci Code, except better written (IMHO). Best of all, the first book is free from the trilogy website http://www.watersofdestiny.com/books.html

Andy will be releasing his collection of philosophical science fiction stories through Greyhart Press early in the new year. Entitled Evolution: Engines of Life, it is something we haven’t done before: a themed collection of stories, the theme being evolution.

One busy guy!

A Christmas message from Crustias Scattermush

Over on our sister website, ATaleForATale.com, there’s a Christmas message from Crustias Scattermush for young human readers. There’s some exciting news, and a homemade Christmas card. Whether that’s Crustias in the picture, I can’t say.

Crustias is the senior branch Repositarian of the Repository of Imagination, which is getting ready to open a branch on our world in 2013.

Zombie novel sensation, Death Flu, sweeps America by storm…

… well, okay, that’s pushing the truth a bit far, but congratulations all the same to debut Michigan novelist, Scott Brietzke, whose first Death Flu book is in the top#100 Amazon Kindle charts for his genre (or the closest, there isn’t a ‘zombie’ category on Amazon). Well done, sir!

If you want to try Death Flu for yourself, it’s 25% off until Christmas.

Zombie apocalypse

The news has been grim indeed today. It’s difficult to remind myself of the fun things in life when there’s tragedy in the news. So as a placeholder to remind myself of innocent pleasures, I’m ending this post with a link to an old item from the archives to enjoy when I’m ready. It’s about two of my favorite things: zombies and Lego.

Our occult thriller, set in Northern Ireland, to be published next week

I’m delighted to announce that Bridge of Blood by Philip McCormac will be published next Tuesday, initially for paperback and Kindle eBook editions.

Old enmities run deep in the Northern Ireland setting of this page-turner that is part detective thriller and part occult horror. Old scores remain to be settled, and the oldest of all concerns the demon Laldaboth; after 350 years of imprisonment under the Bridge of Blood, he is eager for revenge!

Not a book for the easily offended…

Bridge of BloodPhilip has a long history of writing Western thrillers and he has combined his formidable writing skills with his love of scary stories in this modern-day page turner.

Sadly, we have seen on the news these past couple of weeks how enmities do indeed still run deep in the violence over the Union Flag Dispute. Although Bridge of Blood does not shy away from the tensions between the Protestant and Catholic communities, the real division in the book is between humanity and the evil that is demonkind.

Win a copy!

Over at Goodreads there’s a copy of the paperback up for grabs — winner to be announced December 18th. The giveaway is live here and runs until Dec 18th.

Think you know about the Scottish Highlands? Learn from someone who knows…

Our time travel Romance set in the Scottish Highlands, The Last Sunset, continues to pick up great reviews. Readers love its powerful mix of action, humour, romance, and that ‘what if?’ question some great books leave in your mind after closing the back cover.

Author, Bob Atkinson, who lives in Lochaber where the novel is set, has been busy posting guest articles and being interviewed. Bob writes some of the best guest posts of any author in my opinion. Here’s a recent selection:

The Last Sunset finalBob writes a guest post on the turning point in history: Culloden

Bob writes a post entitled: A Tale of Two Rebellions

Bob interviewed at Oh, Chrys

The Last Sunset reviewed at Book Worm Brandy: “unique and powerful”

BBC Scotland mentions Bob’s book alongside Scarlett Johansson and Matt Smith as Doctor Who!

The Last Sunset continues to receive a powerful thumbs-up from Goodreads.
